Chalk Hill Blue
Chalk Hill Blue is the first psychologically informed intervention aimed at supporting young people. It is based on the outskirts of London away from the bustle of the inner city.
We will provide a 24 hour 5-bedroom service for young people aged 10-17 who need ongoing support. This foundation will provide a secure base and has been specifically chosen to generate close relationships.
The aim is to develop peer support backed by specialist input from practitioners to bring about emotional recovery. It is by bringing people together that they build positive relationships and have life enhancing experiences .
A person centred approach, drawing on unconditional care, empathy and congruence aims to build the basis for self actualisation.
At Chalk Hill Blue each young person will be given with their own personally designed room, a LIFE guardian, a Therapist, Children’s guidebook, and A LIFE Journal. This form of support is essential in order to scaffold the young person’s emotional and physical development, therefore we have made sure that on arrival the young person is presented with a the foundation so they can settle in during the transition.
By generating a secure base the next stage is to engage the young person with co-producing: boundaries/house rules, overall structure and the LIFE hack class. The aim is to build the environment around a sustainable platform and thereby generate empowerment.
Through reflection on theory and practice to generate praxis, practitioners will incorporate theory and practice to generate new insights.
